The quality of the work of Aklala Batik has been honored in many ways:
In 2012, Aklala Batik was invited by the US Government to take part in the AWEP (African Women’s entrepreneurship program) as the only participant from Togo. For six weeks, Chantal Donvide received a scholarship to partcipate in workshops and conferences organized by AWEP, learning from international experts. During her stay in the US, she even got to meet Hillary Clinton, who highly appreciated the beautiful fabrics of Aklala Batik.
In 2015, West Africa’s biggest print fabric house VLISCO named Chantal Donvide Femme Leader Du Togo, an acclaimed title and national honor that ensured the respect and support of the local community towards Aklala Batik.
